Intel Confirms SSD Data Corruption Issue
It seems as though Intel has confirmed those SSD data corruption rumors making the rounds. The company says it is working on a fix and has suspended shipments of the drives in the mean time. The problem only exists for people that have set their BIOS drive password and then attempts to disable or change it. Hit the link for more details.
Trying to provide its customers with support, Intel has advised users not to disable or change said password, in case a BIOS password has been set. In addition, the chip maker also decided to delay shipments of the new drives, until the issue was solved and a new firmware fix would be available and validated.
