Sony Chief Takes Over Company’s Presidency
Sony’s CEO, Howard Stringer, has recently added the role of President to his job description after Ryoji Chubachi stepped down. The company is also reorganizing its video games, personal computers, mobile electronics and software divisions.
Analysts say that for Sony to climb back to profitability, it must consider exiting product areas where it lags behind rivals. Once an electronics powerhouse, Sony now trails in market share in many of the products it sells, including televisions, video game consoles and digital music players.
