All Dell Notebooks To Use LED Backlighting by 2010

A new report says that Dell will switch all its notebooks to LED backlighting by 2010 and become the world’s greenest company in the process. What is it with the year 2010 today? Isn’t anything cool going to happen in 2009 or 2011?

Effective December 15, 2008, two-thirds of Dell Latitude E-Family notebooks will be shipped with mercury-free LED backlighting as a standard feature. This includes the Latitude E4200, E4300, E6400, E6400 ATG and E6500. Also shipping with LED backlighting as a standard display will be the Dell Precision M2400 and M4400 mobile workstations.
