Music Download Trial Starts Tuesday

The first person sued by the RIAA to take their case all the way to trial goes to court tomorrow. If the defendant wins, expect the floodgates to open as case after case will go to trial. If she loses, things will pretty much stay the same as they are now. You can bet all eyes are on this case.

The Brainerd, Minn., resident is accused of illegally sharing 1,702 songs for free on a file-sharing network. Her trial offers the first chance for both sides in the debate over online music sharing to show a jury its version of the facts.
