Viacom Cracks Down On YouTube

It looks like Viacom is asking YouTube to remove its content, including all Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert clips. This is just the tip of the iceberg, everyone will descend on YouTube demanding content deals or the removal of their copyrighted material.

Viacom Inc. has requested that video Web site YouTube take down some Viacom videos, including shows by comedians Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, as part of ongoing discussions on how the two companies can work together, a Viacom source said on Monday.

If you removed every bit of copyrighted content from YouTube would it even be the same place? I don’t think so. It’ll be interesting to see how the new YoogleTube deals with similar situations in the future.
