AMD Closes Private Offering:
Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. today announced that it has closed a private offering of $600 million of 7.75 percent Senior Notes due in 2012. AMD intends to use the net proceeds from the offering, approximately $587 million, together with existing cash, to prepay the full amount owed by AMD’s indirect wholly-owned German subsidiary, AMD Saxony Limited Liability Company & Co. KG, under its existing term loan.
VIA’s October Sales Results:
VIA Technologies, Inc., a leading innovator and developer of silicon chip technologies and PC platform solutions, today announced net sales for October 2004 of NT$1.85 billion (US$55.32 million approximately). On a sequential basis, this monthly sales revenue represents a 1.87% decrease over September’s figure of NT$1.88 billion (US$56.37 million approximately).
MS Files More Anti-Spam Lawsuits:
Microsoft Corp. today announced the filing of three new anti-spam lawsuits under the CAN-SPAM federal law as part of its continued commitment to solving the spam problem for Internet users worldwide. The announcement was made in conjunction with industry partners America Online Inc., EarthLink Inc. and Yahoo! Inc., who also filed separate lawsuits against accused spammers today in courts in Virginia, Georgia and California. America Online filed two lawsuits, and EarthLink and Yahoo! each filed a single lawsuit.
