Happy Labor Day USA:

Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.

You guys be safe and have a good time doing whatever blows your skirt up.

Ramming Speed!

ViperLair pulls out the stops and shows us what Kingston's HyperX PC3500 is all about. We use a ton of the PC3500 HyperX to test with around the UnderGround Bunker...

A 225MHz (450MHz DDR) OC was the highest clock speed we were able to manage while still maintaining stability at stock timings.

KT400A:

If you want to go with a VIA chipset on your next mainboard, the KT400A still looks to be the way to go in our eyes. WinHQ has a review of the AOpen offering, the AK77-400 Max. AOpen has some of the most feature-rich BIOSes you will ever lay your hands on.

SilentTek is AOpen's gift to the overclocking community and definitely deserves special commendation. I can recommend this board for someone who is into light overclocking and wants all the features that a motherboard can provide.

Mini-ITX:

Ohls chimes in with their second part of their Project Nehemiah. If you are looking for a rig to put in the living room to use as a set-top box, this may be it. They are building a file server with theirs.

Speed Demon:

Joey over at ComputerSphere has his Celeron 2.1GHz CPU overclocked to 3.36GHz. Now if we could just add about 500K of L2 cache it would actually mean something. Kinda like having a 500 horsepower engine and a clogged up air intake...still fun to see though.

Call of Duty:

Head to FileShack to download the demo of Call of Duty, and while you are waiting for the files to hit your drive, you can read this article about the gameplay at NVNews.

Although Call of Duty uses a heavily redesigned Quake 3 engine, the performance on a GeForce FX 5900 was staggering. I'm no programmer, but I was happily surprised to finally experience a well coded game.
