Test Setup

For this review we installed all the components (listed on the chart below) from our usual test-bed into the PC4-1020BK using the CPU-305-V10 CPU cooler, and socket AM2 brackets also supplied by Koolance. The CPU cooler was mounted 3 times to check for aberrations in the mount and, both the cooler and the CPU were cleaned with isopropyl alcohol between each mount before fresh Arctic Silver 5 was applied using the “grain of rice” method.

For load testing Prime95 using the “in place Large FFT’s” torture test was run on both cores until peak temperature for each test was reached. System temperatures were recorded using Speedfan 4.29 while ambient temperature was measured using a Honeywell digital thermometer with remote probe.

No changes were made to the case or the cooling system from the stock configuration. We review the product exactly as it would arrive if you had ordered it for your self.
