Illegal File Sharers Buy The Most Legal Media

A new survey suggests that, contrary to popular belief, illegal file sharers are actually the type of people that spend the most money on traditional media and entertainment.

Our survey shows that the P2P user attends 34% more movies in theaters, purchases 34% more DVDs and rents 24% more movies than the average internet user. The P2P user owns more HDTVs and is more likely to own a high-def-DVD player, too.

Idiotic WiFi Leaching Gamer of the Day

If you are going to use the free WiFi at the public library for online gaming, it would probably be a good idea to NOT scream at your teammates while you are playing. Pretty funny that this guy went through all the trouble to conceal what he was doing only to be kicked out in 2 minutes flat.

Burglars Using Facebook, Twitter to Find Targets

According to this article, crooks are starting to use Facebook and Twitter to find places to burglarize. To be honest, I didn’t think twice about posting updates during my vacation last week on my Facebook page. Why? Because I had an ex-Army Ranger house sit while I was away. Problem solved. big grin

Facebook users enthusing about an upcoming holiday or a recently purchased high-tech gadget may not just be telling their friends but also potential burglars, warns an insurance company. A survey of 2,092 social media users by British-based Legal & General found nearly four in ten, or 38 percent, of people using social networking sites like Facebook or Twitter post details about holiday plans and 33 percent details of a weekend away.

It takes a serious modder to look at his motorcycle and think "I could put a Viper motor in there." This thing is truly badass and totally street legal. This bike seriously reminds me of the old Dodge Tomahawk concept bike.

Facebook Scam Picking Up In Intensity

It looks like that old "I was robbed in London, send money" trick is not only still around, it is gaining in popularity on Facebook. While I know you guys wouldn't fall for something like this, it might be a good idea to spread the word to your friends and family that might.

A phishing scam that seems to have hooked and hacked many Facebook members' accounts since early this year appears to have picked up in intensity over the last month. Hackers are logging into users' accounts, but it's actually not the hacked member who falls victim to the lucrative scam. It's their friends.

Craigslist User of the Day

Other than being a great place to buy and sell stuff, Craigslist is also a never ending source of entertainment...thanks to stories like this.

A man was arrested by Knoxville police after posting pictures of a furnace he didn't own on Craigslist and helping load it for buyers who were really officers.
