It’s bad enough when you click a link and get Rickrolled but now you can’t even watch the Thanksgiving Day Parade without having it happen. Somehow it makes you feel so much dirtier when you get Rickrolled live. Thanks to Jason Zweibeck for the video.

Patch That POS PC!!

Microsoft says they are seeing another wave of attacks that are targeting an exploit patched last month. You know what that means, there are a bunch of people out there with unpatched boxes and most of us know who they are. So, let’s all do our civic duty and when we visit relatives tomorrow on Turkey Day…patch their POS PC. We will all benefit from your act of kindness. wink

It is also interesting to note that the worm patches the vulnerable API in memory so the machine will not be vulnerable anymore. It is not that the malware authors care so much about the computer as they want to make sure that other malware will not take it over too... More details are available in our encyclopedia write up.

Sadly, we also found a lot of deals that turned out to be duds. In most cases, prices were exactly the same as what many retailers are offering right now. However, we even found a few sale prices were a few dollars higher than normal.

Courts Convicts Mom in MySpace Suicide Trial

A federal jury in the MySpace suicide trial has found the defendant guilty on three of the charges against her but a mistrial was declared on one count. The defendant faces one year in jail and a $100,000 fine for each of the counts she was found guilty of.

Drew was not directly charged with causing Megan's death. Instead, prosecutors indicted her under the federal Computer Use and Fraud Act, which in the past has been used in hacking and trademark theft cases. Among other things, Drew was charged with conspiring to violate the fine print in MySpace's terms-of-service agreement, which prohibits the use of phony names and harassment of other MySpace members.

Microsoft Now 5th Most Spam Friendly ISP

Microsoft is the fifth most spam-friendly ISP? What the!?! That can’t be good for the ol’ company image. I guarantee you this, now that this is making headlines the problem will be solved ASAP.

"We have been notifying Microsoft about this for some months now at a high level that the abuse at livefilestore.com we believe now exceeds any genuine use of that service that may exist," Cox said. He added that while Spamhaus has not yet listed any major Microsoft properties on its block list, it has listed a couple of smaller Microsoft domains to get their attention.
