Optimus Keyboard For Sale

The crew at Engadget spotted an Optimus Maximus keyboard up for sale earlier today. The bidding then was a mere $300, two minutes ago it was at $1,700 and climbing. With five days to go, expect insane amounts of money to be bid.

We wouldn't have expected the first opportunity for consumers to pick up an Optimus Maximus to be in the wild frontiers of eBay, but hey, we'll take what we can get. Currently at $300 with 14 bids, but seeing how fast our pathetic bid was shot down, it looks like there's going to be quite a frenzy when the auction winds down on February 4th.

The legislation aims to restrict convicted sex offenders' Web use, banning them from social networks like Facebook and News Corp.'s MySpace.

Hella Deal

We did BFGTech 8800 GTS cards for $299.99 a few weeks ago and I know our readers bought 500 of them in a few short hours. Today Newegg is selling EVGA's 8800 GTS for $279.99 after $20 MIR (at least that is what the card totalled out to be in my cart). Shipping is free. Use promo code EMCABCKAG.

Edit: It seems the code is only good for current Newegg subscribers. Let me see if I can work something out.

You can read our evaluations on the new G92 based 8800 GTS here and here.

Google Fixes Gmail IMAP Problem

I’m not sure how many of you are having this problem but Google says it has fixed a problem that was causing Windows Mobile phone users to receive blank Gmail messages. There you go, if you had a problem…now you don’t.

In October, Google began supporting IMAP for Gmail. That means messages that mobile users send or receive from their phones are synced with their Gmail accounts, appearing the next time users access their accounts from a computer. But shortly after the announcement, Windows Mobile users began complaining in online forums about problems.

Diamond and Gold Covered Computers?

I got an e-mail today from [H] reader “EC” that has to be seen to be believed. Two small form factor Core 2 Duo systems one with a gold case the other has diamonds. And, if I am reading this correctly, these things are priced at $750k and $560k. The Blu-ray – HD DVD drive is a nice touch but you’d think I could get some more RAM and a better video card for that kinda cash.

Attorney Blames Xbox For Infant Death

I don’t know who is the bigger scumbag, the guy that kills a kid and blames his Xbox or the attorney trying to convict him by saying this:

Berardinelli said of Salahuddin in his closing arguments: "His entire life and daily routine is about playing the game. "What do you think someone with that kind of obsession is going to do when it gets knocked over? What do you think is going to happen? "The skull fractures on that baby are what happened."
