Google Turns Over Blogger’s IP Address

Google turned over the IP address of an anonymous blogger, that much is for sure. The problem is, many sources say it was voluntary while others say the company had no choice.

The Globes Online report goes on to say that initially Google had refused to hand over the IP address, but the council members filed slander charges and asked for the court to force Google into handing over the IP address of the anonymous blogger. The preliminary ruling on the case identified that the blog postings raised suspicions of criminal conduct and this has allegedly prompted Google to reach a settlement with the council members where the company gave up the blogger’s IP address without a legal mandate forcing it too.

Gullible PC Users a Threat to Security

While I know this story is simply stating the obvious, all of us know a “gullible PC user” like this so we owe I to ourselves to forward them this link.

ASUS Eee PC Bluetooth Mod

Here is a pretty impressive little Bluetooth mod for owners of the ASUS Eee PC 701.

Last week I researched how to subvert the Asus 701 (Eee)! Last year I documented adding internal USB Bluetooth to another sub-notebook…Now I’ve combined the two - I’ve added internal USB Bluetooth to my Eee without affecting the built-in wireless or using the empty mini PCIe card slot smile

Fix For Fast Draining Zune

If your Zune is draining its battery really fast after applying the latest firmware update, have no fear, this site has a solution. It worked on my Halo 3 Zune. Thanks to Ed C. for the linkage.

A few people on the official forums have issues with battery life after updating their Zune 30s to v2 Firmware. Zune doesn't charge correctly and although it says its fully charged after a few hours the battery dies. I don't think its a very common issue but if you have it see how you can try to fix it...

This little news item is sure to cause a bit of debate. Research firm iSuppli is predicting that Intel will remain at the top of the list of chipmakers while AMD will drop off the top ten list in 2008.

Intel will increase its market share by the end of 2007 to 12.5 percent, keeping its place as the world's top chipmaker, while rival AMD will drop out of the top 10, research firm iSuppli predicted. Samsung Electronics will remain the world's second-biggest chipmaker with 7.4 percent of the market while Toshiba will rise to third place, pushing Texas Instruments to number four, iSuppli said.
