Spoofing Bug Found In IE 7

Well, that didn’t take long now did it? A spoofing bug has been found in IE7. There is a small video clip of the spoof in action posted in this article, hit the link and check it out.

IE 7, released last week, allows a Web site to display a pop-up that can contain a spoofed Web address, security monitoring company Secunia said Wednesday. An attacker could exploit this weakness to trick people into believing they are on a trusted Web site when in fact they are viewing a malicious page, Secunia said in an alert.

Toshiba 36 Degree Headgear

There is more news on that 360 headgear from Toshiba we showed you guys last week. Don’t feel bad, we thought it was a joke too.

It's about as glamorous as wearing an old-style TV set on your head, but the dome-shaped headgear from Japanese electronics maker Toshiba Corp. isn't meant to be fashionable. It's designed to show images in a 360-degree view — synched with the motion of the wearer's head to deliver the illusion of being someplace else: a cityscape at night, for example, or outer space.

NEW Crysis Video

This new video showcases many new Crysis gameplay features and gives a very detailed look at the environments and outlines the story line as well. I think many companies are counting on Crysis as being “the” title to truly kick off DX10 and Windows Vista while being an exciting motivation for more enthusiasts to upgrade their hardware. To put it in technical terms, it looks like the upcoming Crysis is going to kick some serious ass.

Intel Pledges Support For Energy Standards

Earlier this week Intel pledged support for the new Energy Star electronics standards. I had a big joke about Intel going green but with all the mergers lately I didn’t want all you NVIDIA fans to think Intel was buying themselves a graphics card company too.

The EPA revised its Energy Star computer specification on Friday, drawing up new "Version 4.0" requirements to replace standards that have been in effect since July of 2000. Starting on July 20, 2007, computers, servers, workstations and game consoles must meet the revisions in order to qualify for an Energy Star rating.

Ubuntu Needs To Be Prettier

Mark Shuttleworth, the guy behind Ubuntu Linux, says that the OS needs to be prettier if the Linux based operating system is to gain a wider, more mainstream audience.

If we want the world to embrace free software, we have to make it beautiful. I’m not talking about inner beauty, not elegance, not ideological purity… pure, unadulterated, raw, visceral, lustful, shallow, skin deep beauty.

ATi + AMD = The New AMD

In case you missed the press release this morning, the AMD – ATi merger went through today. While this has little impact on what we as consumers see, the ATi website has changed a little and the old ATi.com is now merged with the AMD domain. Check out the new site, you’ll notice most everything from products to drivers are still easy to find and so forth, it’s just an updated look to reflect the AMD merger.

AMD and ATI joined forces in a transaction that combines AMD’s technology leadership in microprocessors with ATI’s strengths in graphics, chipsets and consumer electronics. The result is a processing powerhouse: a new competitor, better equipped to drive growth, innovation and choice for its customers in commercial and mobile computing segments and in rapidly-growing consumer electronics segments.

Check out the "ATU Gamer" & "ATU User" page while you are there. Who the hell is ATU? Did we miss something?
